About Us

Guadalupe Valley Christian Counseling Center (GVCCC) is a non-profit Christian agency supported by area churches. While our staff members are committed Christians with their own faith statements and understandings, their purpose is not to preach to clients. They are clinically trained and experienced professionals who utilize the tools of the psychotherapeutic fields to help clients achieve optimal mental, emotional and spiritual health. Tools of the faith such as confession and forgiveness, prayer, and Biblical meditation can be used when the client feels comfortable with them and can be benefited therapeutically.

Daniel “Sean” Hannon, MA, LMFT, Executive Director

Sean is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (www.aamft.org). In pursuit of a second career, Sean completed a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2014. He enthusiastically chose this field as he found the work important and the study of it fascinating. In 1999, he completed a Master of Arts in Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, which led to his first career in the technology industry working with computer chips.
Sean worked at a non-profit community mental health clinic from 2013 to 2018. He had the opportunity to facilitate groups, lead workshops, and work with a wide variety of people in this setting. He is truly grateful for this enriching experience. Sean is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which he has found powerful in his clinical practice. In 2018, Sean decided to take the role of stay-at-home dad with his newborn son, another deeply enriching experience. As he takes on the role of Executive Director, he looks forward to new opportunities to serve the community of the Guadalupe Valley.

Successful therapy depends on the therapist's ability to connect with the client, understand their goals, adapt to their needs, and cultivate a safe, secure space in which to foster emotional awareness and personal growth. I strive to tailor every aspect of my integrative therapeutic approach to provide the individual, couple, or family with an experience that fully embraces these principles.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. I embrace a multilingual as well as multicultural therapeutic space and I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals. While I am here to guide you through the process, this is your process, and I want to aid you in finding your strengths so that you can be in charge of your journey.
Starting therapy can be intimidating and overwhelming. Please call me for an initial phone consultation where we can discuss any concerns or questions you might have, as well as assess client-therapist fit. I am offering tele-video sessions during this time. I am looking forward to hearing from you and being part of your journey.

A Guadalupe County United Way sponsored agency.
